This server has food expiry and preservation mechanics.
Food must be preserved if you want it to last more than a few days. Food that isn't preserved will have a listed expiration date in it's lore, as well as it's current state like fresh - stale - or expired. If you consume food that is expired, you will get food poisoning and likely die.
How to Preserve Meats:
Most commonly you will want to preserve meat. You will need a regional resource called salt. Salt is located in the "salt flats" in the south-eastern region of Vermance. Collect some of the salt crystals, grind them with a grindstone into salt, and use the recipes listed in /ia to create salted meats.
Note: Salted meats cannot be consumed until cured!
To finish the preservation process, put the salted meat into an Oven and allow it to dry. It will cure the meat allowing it to last forever, perfect for stocking the shelves of your Kingdom.
