You can upgrade various features of weapons, tools, armor, and clothing on Medieval Unlimited.
Upgrading Gear first requires an Upgrade Bench. View /ia under Crafting Stations category to see how to craft one. Secondly you will also need XP which can be gathered through playing - but be sure to check out Achievements! Thirdly you will need Silver, which can be found in the deepest areas of Vermance.
You may notice your XP bar doesn’t always display which will prevent you from upgrading. Splash yourself with an XP bottle or use one of your stored XP bottles made with /bottle store max while holding a Glass Bottle before using the bench to avoid this bug.
Upgrading will prevent you from applying templates, dye, or weapon parts - so be thoughtful on if you are happy with the item before upgrading it.
